More than sixty years ago, the little sisters of Jesus came to the Holy Land to live the example of the hidden life of Jesus in Nazareth. In the footsteps of Brother Charles de Foucault and Sister Madeleine, the foundation of monasticism, nuns live near the population of different parishes. The most famous place is perhaps the stage VI where the nuns have a small shop.
Sister Christine arrived at this place 50 years before the vows of the monastic life in the church of Sainte-Véronique, where the love takes the form of a fabric.
For 50 years, the nun lived with many different personalities in the Holy Land. Perhaps the time that has characterized her life more than others is the time she spent with families in Gaza in the middle of the conflict.
It is true! Pike 6th grade Theater classes are back for the next school year! Excitement time! Students in beginning Theater classes will be able to learn basic Theater knowledge, vocabulary, history and they will learn to prepare for play productions. Students become excited to participate in three plays throughout the year. Every student will have a responsibility. Each class will have a play that performs during their class time. It will not require after school nor weekend rehearsals. There are no fees for Theater. All students in Theater classes are expected to follow the district policies and the class room procedures. Lessons, assignments, due dates and assessments will all be posted in Moodle. Tutorials can be held at various times to accommodate students, but prior arrangements must be made with me. The tutorial sign up sheet is on the class room door. Detentions will be held as needed, after parent contact is made. Please understand that I will encourage students to participate in the Theater classes. I know that many students are at different levels and each student is respected for their individual talents. I anticipate a wonderful school year. Thank you for your interest in your child’s education, Mrs. Monk
At the French International Lyceum of Vilnius, the five primary classes (CP, CE1, CE2, CM1, CM2) are accredited.
Primary school welcomes children from age 6 to 11. The child starts CP (preparatory course) on September the year of his or her sixth birthday.
It is during this period that children learn how to read, write and basic of mathematics. Scientific education related to children’s centres of interests, entitled Discovering the World in official programmes, is provided as early as cycle 2. From cycle 3, this course becomes more precise and expands to France and the world thanks to history lessons, geography, science and technology. Sports and artistic education are also provided from preparatory course CP.
Programmes of history, geography and art history in cycle 3 are adapted in a way to integrate local elements of Lithuanian heritage.
